Playoff Information

League Format and Scheduling Information (the fine print):  The Reverse Fours league will follow the same format as in our previous years.  All teams play at the same time -- Four 30 minute "matches" per night.  Play begins at 6:00 pm. and ends around 8:00 pm.  So that matches can get started on time, this year, we will request that teams help set-up and take down nets (whichever court you start and finish on).  With two teams on each net, nets will go up with little effort and teams can have extra time to warm-up before their first match.  The format calls for one net for every two teams; so teams get to play non-stop (unless there is an odd number of teams) .  Typically, you'll play each team more than once and we re-seed to divisions after the first time through the league.  The first night, matches do count, however, we do not usually post the schedule for the first week ahead of time.  This allows teams to register up until the first day of the league -- if space allows.  After the first week, you'll find schedule and standings links on this page.

  • We will follow USAV outdoor rules for fours and sixes.  You can download and print a copy if you wish: PDF File 2007-2008 USAV Outdoor Beach Rules (PDF/155kb).

  • These are the exceptions to the above rules for our leagues:

    • For sixes, we allow 4-2 or 3-3 team composition

    • There is no women's or men's touch rule

    • Let serve for fours and sixes

    • Rally scoring games to 30 for fours.  2/3 Matches for sixes (25/25/15) with a one hour time limit.

    • For Fours, team composition must be 2-2.  There must be at least one male and one female on the court at all times for the team to be a legal team.
